Vietnam will abolish stamp duty on 16 types of goods

According to Vietnam, "Economic Times" reported on August 10, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance recently decided to abolish teh stamp duty on 16 types of imported goods. The decision will be taken effect early in September 2007. According to the report,the decision that abolishing stamp duty on goods mainly including the original motorcycle, electric fans, cameras, air conditioning, engine, toilet, wash basin, tiles, pumps, gas stove, rice cooker, bike body, hot pots and interior etc. According to reports, over the years, Vietnam imported goods levied stamp duty is to prevent smuggling and tax evasion.
